MINUTES OF 32nd MEETING

at Panthers Rugby League Club
on 15 June1998
Russell Mills opened the meeting at 6.45 pm
 
Attendance:
Alan Bird,  Alan Brown, Andrew Brown, Steve Carter, John Duncan,  Mark George, Bob Hall, Egon Meinhardt, Russell Mills, Chris Nichols,  John Tindall, Theo ten Brummelaar, Colin Wingrove.
 
Apologies:
Trevor Care, Matthew Gregson, Warren Nicol.
 
Previous Meeting:
Minutes of the previous meeting held on 5 April 1998 had been circulated.  The minutes were approved by the meeting and signed by the chairman.
 
Correspondence:
Nil.
 
General Business:
The committee for ASPACI 2000 reported that organisational work was proceeding OK.  Conference venue Panthers has been arranged and sponsorship is being addressed. The field day site has yet to be finalised.

NCAP test data acquisition was discussed.  The Secretary is to contact NCAP and FORS to request access to the data for the benefit of members.

The schedule of future meetings was discussed.  It was noted that  John Tindall is to arrange for Professor Bill Yandell to be guest speaker at the August meeting.

 
Next Meeting:
The next meeting is to be held at a suitable location in August 1998.
 
Guest Speaker:
John Duncan  made a presentation on Photogrammetry. Basic photo rectification technique was demonstrated. He also showed an example of a complex case where the use of at-scene photos and Photogrammetry was utilised to resolve the shape of a sand dune at the relevant time.  Sand dunes continuously change shape so this technique replaced a site survey that should have been carried out at the time of the accident.
 
The meeting closed at 8.15 pm.
