A half day presentation and training seminar in respect to laser survey, scene mapping and laser speed measurement. The seminar was hosted by Philip Lack of Laser Technology Australia and Blair Zykan of Laser Technology Inc of USA.

Derick Wainohu and Hiep Bui of RTA showed the group over the Crashlab facility and we were able to examine all the equipment and a vehicle post-crash. Following the tour of Crashlab, Ashkin Ibrahim (FSS, London, England) presented a short talk about the facilities and organisation of the Forensic Science Service and the work he undertakes. 

Guest Speaker was Jim Munro (GIO) briefed the group in relation to the GIO centre and then with his staff provided a detailed guided tour of the excellent facility. 
Visitor - Ashkin Ibrahim (FSS, London, England)

Guest Speaker was Professor Alex Churches of University of New South Wales provided a very interesting talk in relation to metallurgic al / mechanical causes of accidents which he illustrated with case histories. In a second part to his talk he discussed the biomechanics of occupant injury in vehicle accidents.

The group assembled at 6.45pm and John Tapper provided a guided tour of the Hazmat facility and explained the operation of the support unit and the specialised equipment used by the unit personnel.

The group assembled at 6.30pm when the operation of SCATS (Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System) was explained with a video presentation and expert responses to our questions. 

The group were then given a conducted tour of the control facility with demonstration of the interactive and automated aspects of the Signal control and management system.
